For Immediate Release

HomeVida Hosts Regional Director of the United Nations Millennium Campaign
On the 9th of October, 2013, the Nigerian Integrity Film Awards (HOMEVIDA) hosted representatives of the United Nations Millennium Campaign (UNMC) at its office in Abuja

The Africa Regional Director, Charles Abugre Akelyira and Mr Hilary Ogbonna, the National Coordinator, paid a courtesy visit to HOMEVIDA to discuss and deepen existing collaboration between the Campaign and the HomeVida Initiative.

The UNMC and HomeVida are currently developing and implementing strategies to strengthen citizens’ participation in achieving the Millennium development goals, adopted by 189 countries including Nigeria. One of such strategies is the effective use of HomeVida, a film award platform driving creative messaging on integrity and value change through FILMS.

Seember Nyager, on behalf of the HomeVida Implementation Team, expressed her enthusiasm at a possible partnership with the UN Millennium Campaign. “A collaboration with the UNMC is a welcome development for Nigeria, and indeed the entire African continent. This will enable the promotion of core national and human development values that are necessary for effective nation building and would effectively draw public attention to the millennium development goals and what it represents to the people of Africa in terms of government’s responsibility to provide effective service delivery including water, health, and education”.

About the UNMC

The UN Millennium Campaign’s mandate includes supporting and inspiring people around the world to take action in support of the MDGs. To learn more about the UN Millennium Campaign: www.endpoverty2015.org
