FEATURE FILM CATEGORY


Nominations are expected of feature films which meet the following criteria:

  • An independently produced feature length film (60 – 120mins) that best portrays issues that Transparency, Accountability and Good Governance from the wider Nigerian film industry (Nollywood).
  • A film produced in Nigeria by Nigerians
  • A film released or with the Nigeria Film and Video Censor Board for approval whose production is dated between January 2015 to the present date)
  • Feature films which speak to Transparency, Accountability and Good Governance Issues (for example, films which focus on citizens playing active roles in governance, fighting corruption and impunity etc.).
  • Films suitable for children or family viewing (as certified by the Nigerian Film and Video Censor Board)
  • Have a storyline that is believable, realistic, dramatic and entertaining

Eligibility for Feature Film:

  • Have been produced in Nigeria
  • Be a drama film
  • Be between 60mins and 120mins
  • Technically meet modern broadcast standards with clear audio-visual quality.
  • Be realistic, dramatic and entertaining
  • Produce documentation to show clearance of music rights, script and talent.
  • Show evidence of censorship with NFVCB (if the film has been released) or be already submitted to the NFVCB (if not released)
  • Be made by filmmakers who are 18 years and above
  • Film production meets Nigeria Film and Video Censor Board guidelines and other regulations

 

DOCUMENTARY CATEGORY


Nominations are expected for documentaries which meet the following criteria:

  • A factual documentary which highlights issues that promote or showcase Transparency, Accountability and Good Governance in Nigeria
  • A factual documentary which speaks to the process and role of citizen involvement in demanding accountable governance
  • Socially and politically engaged documentary with campaign potential for promoting Transparency, Accountability and Good Governance.
  • Audiovisual work which innovatively tells a factual story highlighting issues of Transparency, Accountability and Good Governance.
  • A documentary with strong narrative and courage of conviction on focused aspect of Transparency, Accountability and Good Governance

Eligibility for Documentary:

  • An independently produced 20 -45 minutes length documentary
  • A documentary produced by Nigerians for Nigerian and global audience
  • A documentary produced between January 2015 to Date.
  • Technically be of modern broadcast standards with clear audio-visual quality
  • Produce documentation to show clearance of music rights, script and talent.
  • Be made by filmmakers who are 18 years and above.
